Welcome to Writer’s Block, a creative writing club for young writers! Each month, we’ll learn about an aspect of the writing craft and have a chance to practice with a writing challenge.
At some point, all of us writers deal with the dreaded writer’s block, or creative brain freeze, but we’re not going to let it slow us down. Instead, we’re going to combat it with the best solutions possible: practical skills and lots of practice!
My vision for Writer’s Block is to equip and encourage young writers in their craft. I started writing at a young age when my brothers, some friends, and I took turns writing chapter books. Maybe you have a friend or group of friends who like to write but need a little direction. These short, monthly videos are designed to provide guidance and a writing prompt to get your creativity started. Then, together, you can share and give constructive feedback to each other. During our first club meeting, premiering September 16, I share an easy approach for doing just that.
Whether you’ve been writing for years or just getting started, I hope you’ll feel welcome here. If there’s a specific topic you’d like to see us discuss, please contact me and let me know.
Write on, friends!
