Within each of us is a longing for adventure. Sometimes, it thrills us and pushes us to the very limits of what we can achieve; other times, it frightens us and confronts us with our own frailties.
My fiction stories develop characters that young adults can relate to and that a person of any age can identify with in some way. The choices they make, the situations they face stretch them relationally, physically, and yes, spiritually.
The bottom line is not what happens to the characters, but what the characters do with what happens to them. That’s where the characters grow–and where we can grow right along with them.
… AND BEYOND
A story might end with the last page of a book, but each of us has a story of our own. My challenge to you is to embrace the story God designed for you. If you want to think truthfully and live daringly, I invite you to join my blog. When ordinary life happens, learn to view it from an extraordinary perspective. You’ll also find updates about my books, giveaways, and more.
Life is too short to waste. That’s why I enjoy talking with young people and challenging them to pursue the dreams God’s given them. Graduations are some of my favorite places to speak, because graduates are on the cusp of their futures, blank pages yet to be written.
I also help writers share their stories. If you’re a writer, you’ll find resources on my site to help you in your journey. Word Weavers International offers writers a place of community and an opportunity to improve their craft through constructive critiques. I also serve on faculty at Serious Writer Academy, designed to equip writers for success in their genre and marketing. If you have questions about either resource, I’d be happy to help answer them.
Safe travels to you in all your adventures, and I hope our paths will cross again.
